We will be out at the track this Wednesday, January 4th, 2012, to ring in the New Year! Practice will begin around 6:30PM and it always continues until about 10:30-11:00PM. Afterwards, we all go out to eat, everyone is invited. Come on out and get your practice in.

Practice On Sunday, October 9th!

Hi all,

As you may have noticed, it's been a very slow summer! Our excessive rainy season put a damper on our regular schedule. Now that the weather is improving, we are going to work on a new schedule to get the track back 'on track.'

This Sunday, October 9th, 2011, we will be hosting open practice at our track first thing in the morning. We will be there around 7am and probably run about 5-6 hours until lunch time, so we can beat any possible afternoon showers.

Our annual FSEARA State Race is also approaching quickly. The date of that race is Sunday, November 20th, 2011. We will be hosting a club race/open practice day on Saturday prior to the State Race.

We hope everyone will start coming out regularly again as the weather improves. We had great regular attendance last fall/winter, and there is no reason this year can't be even better!

Practice Wrapup, Club Race this weekend?

Great practice session last night. Dave and I had some close battles, our touring cars are definitely picking up the pace. Got my diff sorted out finally.

The traction was superb even though the track was SUPER dusty. I think the new spray is better than VHT was. Consistent and sticky.

We are going to try to put together a club race on Saturday evening, but the weather isn't looking to promising. Keep it in mind and keep an eye on the weather, and we will keep everyone posted.

Club Race Results

We had a good time and I think the program went pretty smooth considering it was out first time racing without the beloved Potter!

Eddie TQ'd and got out to an early lead in nitro, but some sort of motor stutter and an eventual stripped gear cost him the race. Sean ended up taking the win by over 10 laps in nitro. He had the fastest laps of the day in qualifying and in the main as well and the win was well deserved.

I TQ'd and won Pro Touring, with Dave, Bob, and Robert all chasing my tail in qualifying and the main. Dave especially picked up "6 tenths" and rode my bumper at the beginning of the main but a small bobble spaced us out. It was Xray in 1, 2, 3, and 4!

Denise TQ'd RCGT but had various car problems during the main. Rob tooks a commanding lead and never looked back. George love was battling a Schumacher with no rear traction all night. Rob took the win after Denise had to sit out many laps after her front dogbones popped out.

So far our new traction compound is working great. However, as usual we are fighting dust problems, even when the track is thoroughly swept and washed first. When Parks & Rec cleared out the lot next to the track it really made it tought to get the dust and dirt out of the rink. With the help of the nitro cars the track was very clean by the 2nd and 3rd qualifiers.

Traction was actually extremely high even when the track was very hot and still dusty earlier in the day. The new compound has a lot of bite. Bob is going to start cutting it more. I had to do a lot to free my car up throughout the day!

Thanks again to all who participated. We are going to work on coming up with a schedule that pleases all racers. It has been discussed to add an extra race day each month, so we'd be racing twice a month. Tim and I would like to see an increased commitment from the racers before we commit to adding an extra race day. If our turnouts are good again next month (especially if we can continue to count on the nitro racers to be a large part of our program) we can explore doing 2 race days a month.

Bob has bought two alternatives to VHT that are supposed to be similar so we will be testing those out.

Please come out tomorrow so we can get a good amount of cars on the track and work on a new solution for track prep that works as well as the VHT did.

Then on the weekend of the 20th and 21st, we are going to be at the track nearly all weekend! The 20th we will host a club race in the morning, and an enduro in the evening. Then on the 21st is the main event, the FSEARA electric state series race.

This beautiful weather we've been having has made for some great practice sessions recently. We are still on our weekly Wednesday night practice schedule, but increasingly, some of us have been hitting the track on the weekends. I will post more about those weekend practices as they happen. For now, continue to come out on Wednesday nights and support our track by making a donation (via Bob) to help pay for our expenses prepping the track each week.

Many of our local racers will be going up to Daytona this weekend for the second FSEARA state race of the season. Wish us luck as we represent south FL electric racers!

Well, all in all we had a good turn out Saturday night even though we got a late start due to the afternoon rains. The track was very clean, I don't think I had to dust my car off all night.

Felix took it home by a mile in Touring and after a great battle, Mark took the win in RCGT.

WCRC Invitiational Wrap-up

The race was a success, with a good turnout and great weather. We ran 3 heats of 17.5 and 2 heats of RCGT. The triple A-mains were a fun format and made for some stiff competition. In the end, Mark Burt dethroned Dave Bowser (who won the last 3 years) to win the first two A-mains and take whom the victory in 17.5. Dave Franklin took home top honors in RCGT after some well-fought battles with Rob Bowser. Andre Kopingon won our RCGT Concourse event with his Xanavi Skyline GTR

Invitational in TWO DAYS!

All systems are go for our 4th Annual Invitational, this Saturday the 17th! The track will be prepped and open for practice around 12 noon. Registration opens at 5pm, and racing starts at 5:30pm.

We were able to get some good practice in last night in spite of the weather. The track was clean from all the rain, which made for good traction.

Upcoming Events / Club Race Wrapup

First off, thank you to all that came out to our club race last Saturday. We had a solid turnout in all the classes, especially RCGT. The Cirtix combo is really catching on and it has been a great addition to the RCGT class. The best battle of the night was the Pro Touring main, where we had bumper to bumper racing for the entire 6 minutes, with multiple lead changes.

Tomorrow night (Wednesday the 14th) we will have our weekly practice. It's your last chance to get your car dialed in before the Annual Invitational taking place this weekend!

That's right folks, the time is nigh. Saturday, July 17th, 2010 is our 4th Annual WCRC Invitational Race. And everyone is "invited!" We will be running 17.5 Touring with the spec Solaris tires, as well as RCGT with the spec Cirtix ESC and motor combo. Open practice will be from 12pm to 5pm, registration at 5pm, and racing starts at 5:30pm.

Congratulations to our local racers who kicked butt at the double state race this weekend. An extra congrats goes out to Dave Bowser for taking first place in a tie-breaker with Austin Harrison, to win the 2009-2010 FSEARA 1/10 electric state series in 13.5. Other notable finishes were Felix Law, who TQ'd both days and with a second place finish Saturday (13.5) and a win on Sunday (mod); T.J. Lathrop who placed 3rd on both days (17.5), and Tim Potter, Denise Clarke, and AJ Dipirro for A-main finishes on both days.

We finally had some beautiful weather to practice with last night. There was a cool breeze and the traction was high, with a fairly clean track from all the recent rain. We had a good turnout and still until almost 11 P.M., as many of us were getting our cars dialed in for the double state race taking place this weekend.

More Invitational Details

Here are the latest details on our upcoming 4th Annual WCRC Invitational, which will take place July 17th, 2010.

-The main class will be 17.5 Touring. We will be running Solaris spec tires and IFMAR qualifying, with triple-A mains. 9 racers will make the A main, with 2 bump-ups from the B main for a total of 11 racers battling out for a best-two-of-three series of mains.

-The secondary class will be RCGT, running the Cirtix Spec speedo and motor combo. They will be running heads-up heats on a points sytem, with inverted grids every other heat.

Entry will be $20 and that includes a race t-shirt. The spec Solaris tire will be available at the track for $25/set.

We have a lot of big name racers coming out to this race, including TOP Racing's E.J. Evans from California, and 2010 Reedy Race 13.5 champion Dave Bowser. This is going to be some of the best racing Florida has seen in years.

Practice tonight, 5/12/10! Weather should be good, almost no chance of rain and the windy conditions have brought the temperature down a bit from how hot it was at our club race last weekend.

May Club Race Wrap-up

Really, what a great night of racing.

Mr. TQ, Dave Baptiste, dominated qualifying with great runs. In the main, we had way too many battles to cover, but T.J. took advantage of a bobble from Dave,and checked out; his Tamiya 416 was on fire. Meanwhile, Dave used his Xray T3 like a surgeons scalpel and fought through the field up to 3rd, culminating with an epic battle with Brain Fong. He put on a clinic of clean driving, trying to get past Brian. Brian held DB off for at least 2 hard fought minutes to take 2nd.

In RCGT Carlos Rodriguez took the TQ in his Tamiya 416 with T.J. right behind in his TA05. This class was super competitive again last night. There were battles the entire main, and it was the kind of race that make people want to run the class. Ultimately T.J. took the win for a double on the night. The fights for position in qualifying were a treat to watch, as people like Herman and Mark Van Allen battled for position each corner.

The Nitro Main, was a 15 minute heart-breaker. Eddie started from pole, but Shawn soon took the lead with an awesome pass.. He started to check out, then his manifold spring broke, ending his night. Nick, had the roughest night of the bunch, with arguably the fastest car, just could not keep it running, but when he was on the track nobody could tough him. Eddie just ran steady to take the win. This class is getting tight, and I bet we see a new winner next month.

12th scale keeps on growing, with John Sturrok bring his 12th scale out for the first time. Seems like all the cars are getting a bit faster, should be fun to watch in the next few months.

Thanks again for the support from the racers. With new and different racers showing up each month, if we had all of our locals show at once, it would be awesome.

Cinco de Mayo Practice Rained Out

Unfortunately a rogue rain cloud canceled our practice session around 8:15 P.M. tonight. The track was prepped and hooking up beautifully up until the rain came. Thanks to those that came out and stuck it out for a bit seeing if it would clear up.

The race is going to be a bit different this year: we are going to be running 17.5 motors and there will be a spec tire (Solaris). The racing format will also be changed; we will not be running the Reedy format this year. The new format should be Triple-A Mains, with bump-ups and IFMAR qualifying.

There are many more details to follow, so keep your eyes wide open and your ears to the ground!

This upcoming weekend, February 20th & 21st, we have a lot going on at the track!

Starting Saturday morning we will be having another club race, along with round #3 of the RCGT series. After the club race concludes, we will be running a 1.5 hour RCGT enduro. Cash prizes for the top 3 finishers in the enduro.

Sunday is the main event with round #5 of the FSEARA state series taking place at Village Raceway.

We'll be racing all weekend and spectators are more than welcome. Better yet, come race with us! You do not have to be active in the state series to race this weekend.

Track Maintenance Day 2/6/10

This upcoming Saturday, February 6th, 2010, we will be having a Track Maintenance day. We will be changing the layout of the track, along with doing general maintenance such a repainting and cleaning. We will be meeting at the track at 11am on Saturday. Show up wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty and we will have a job for everyone to do.

Donations are encouraged as the price for new pipes & maintenance supplies is high. We will need new pipes to replace broken and cracked pipes, as well as to help with the layout change.

The track will be open for practice later in the day after the layout is finished. Be the first to get track time on the new layout!

Due to the extreme weather we are going to be receiving on Saturday night, we are going to reschedule the January Club Race for Sunday, January 10th, 2010. Racing will start at 11am. This will place all the racing during the warmest part of the day. It will still be cold during the day on Sunday so please bring enough layers to stay comfortable.

The track will be ready for practice on Sunday morning prior to the start of the race.

Our monthly club race will deviate from the normal "2nd Saturday of the month" for November.

We will be racing this upcoming Saturday, November 7th, 2009 instead. This is due to a conflict on the second Saturday of the month with the 2nd Round of the RCGT Showdown South series plus the FSEARA state race at Adrenaline Raceway.

As usual racing will start at 6pm and the track will be open for practice no later than 4pm on Saturday.

Thank you everyone who was out at practice last night. We had a good turnout as our attendance continues to grow on a weekly basis, thanks both to newcomers to the hobby as well as veterans returning to the track.

The weather was nice and traction was very high, especially considering the track was not sprayed.

As always, weekly practices are every Wednesday night, weather permitting. Practice typically starts around 6:00 PM or so. Everyone is welcome!

RCGT Series Round 1 Wrapup

Last weekened was the first race in our 4-race RCGT Showdown South series. Round 1 took place during the Superior Hobbies club race on Saturday, October 24th. The club race was the warm-up for the FSEARA state race on Sunday the 25th. The turnout for RCGT was such a success that RCGT is being added to the FSEARA state series and they included it on Sunday.

We had 24 entries total; 14 in Sportsman and 10 in Expert. Sportsman ran 2 heats and an A- and B- Main, while Expert ran one heat all day. The race had a great response from all the RCGT racers, and many people expressed interest in starting to race RCGT. Expect big things in the future!

We even had a concourse competition before the race started, with the top 3 receiving gift certificates to Superior Hobbies (thanks Superior!) and the winner receiving an HPI body. Rob Ellis took the top honor with his Lexus IS-F body.

We look forward to seeing all the racers again at Adrenaline Raceway on Saturday, November 14th, 2009.

We are also now running a growing RCGT electric class. It's a 17.5 or stock 27t class with realistic bodies and X-pattern treaded tires. It's a blast to watch and even more fun to race. This has been our most popular class recently, and it's growing exponentially.

We will also be running a Tamiya TT01 class using silver/black can motors.

MDI Racing RC Hobby Shop and WCRC kick off the new year with a 2 Hour Electric TC Enduro Challenge at the Village RC Raceway - February 28th, 2009.

Rules are as follows:

It was a busy weekend at the track. The Drift Competition took place all day on Saturday and we held our monthly club race all day on Sunday. From what I hear the Drift Competition was very successful, and the club race had one of the best turn outs in recent months. There were 15 cars in Pro Touring, 6 in Stock Touring, and 5 in Nitro. Here are the results from the club race:

Our club race for the month of February has been rescheduled for this upcoming Sunday, February the 8th. Racing starts at 12pm (noon), setup and practice will begin around 10:30am. We had a great electric class last weekend for Coral Spring's club race at our track and we expect an even better turn out this weekend, with a lot of great competitors preparing their cars for the upcoming state race in Kissimmee.

We have a little bit of a scheduling issue for our next Club race. Our next race is set for the 14th of February, which happens to be Valentines Day. We cannot move it up a week, as the drifting program is having thier big competition (Feb 7th). We could do it on Sunday the 15th, but that is the Daytona 500, so... that may be an issue too. We can also run it this upcoming Sunday, the 8th. We need your thoughts ASAP racers...

This coming Sunday, February 1st, 2009, the racers from Coral Springs Raceway will be hosting their monthly club race at VRW. This race is in additional to our normal monthly club race which will take place the second Saturday of February. Electric 10.5 and Nitro classes will be run.

The Coral Springs track is temporarily closed while they plan & build a new drivers stand. They will continue to do monthly club races at VRW until they have raised enough money and built their new drivers stand. We are honored to be able to help them out, and if we can raise good attendance to their club races at our track, it shouldn't take long for them to get their new driver's stand built.

The schedule for Sunday is still pending, but this post will be updated as soon as any new info comes in.
